Our story

Omni Tend started behind the bar of an award-winning pub and brewery in Suffolk.

When I took over the Green Dragon in Bungay from my father, I inherited what most small business owners know all too well: rotas on paper, sales in log books, inventory tracked in someone's head. With 20 years in software — particularly ePOS and eCommerce — I knew there had to be a better way.

Spreadsheets were the first attempt. They worked — until they didn't. Too slow, impossible to share, and you couldn't delegate a thing. I needed something that didn't exist yet: simple, integrated, and fast, where the team could manage shifts, update stock, and keep everything in sync. So I built it.

What started as a weekend project became the system we use daily at the Green Dragon. Staff manage their own shifts and holidays. Inventory is tracked down to the unit. The ePOS responds instantly — no tiny buttons, no fiddly UI.

From there, Omni Tend grew into a product for businesses like ours. We've added an integrated web shop, deeper inventory analytics, and features designed for teams of all technical abilities. Whether you're a one-person shop or a growing team, you can pick it up and run with it.

We built Omni Tend to give independents the kind of joined-up systems usually reserved for the big chains. The goal is straightforward: help UK businesses run tighter, smarter, and with far fewer moving parts.

And it all started with a pub, a pencil rota, and a spreadsheet that got too slow.

Founder and lead developer. 20 years in software, with deep roots in eCommerce and POS. Built the first version of Omni Tend to solve problems in his own pub — and hasn't stopped building since.
